S&S Fire Pits began with friends gathering around a homemade fire pit. In Bill’s account of the company’s beginnings, one early backyard project led to interest from friends, a source for steel and a business with Andy Stivers. That is the maker story behind S&S.
The work is easier to understand when you can see it. Our shop videos and manufacturing page show the making process and describe pieces that are hand-cut and welded in the United States.
Look at the Work and the Actual Model
Our manufacturing page describes using repurposed industrial, automotive and construction steel for some components. Materials and details vary, so check the listing for the particular product you are considering.
For example, the current Fire Pit on Legs listing describes carbon-steel construction, welded legs, forged handles and work done in Atlanta, Georgia. It offers several sizes. Confirm dimensions, weight and accessory fit for the selected size before ordering.
When comparing products, look for specific information about materials, construction and care. A design description or warranty is not the same as a measured service-life test, and it cannot establish how one model will perform against another in your conditions.
Choose From the Current Range
Browse our fire pits to see the designs available now. Compare the bowl shape, size, support design and intended use. Check what is included rather than assuming that every model comes with the same accessories.
A compatible cooking grate or snuffer lid should be selected for the exact model. If you are interested in a one-off piece or have a specific size in mind, ask us about current options; availability and feasibility need to be confirmed.
Care Is Part of Ownership
Carbon steel can develop patina outdoors. Keep drainage clear, remove ash only after it is completely cold, and check the bowl and supports for damage. Do not treat a surface patina as proof that deeper corrosion cannot occur.
Follow the placement and operating instructions for your model. Use a suitable noncombustible location, keep the area clear and supervise the fire through complete shutdown. A snuffer lid does not instantly cool embers or make a hot fire safe to leave unattended. Our fire pit care page explains these basics.
Ask About the Details Before You Buy
Confirm the selected model’s specifications, current warranty terms and delivery arrangements directly with us. Do not assume installation services, international delivery, special finishes or custom features are included.
